That Awkward Question- “When are you due?”

Not pregnant

Do strangers often ask you if you are pregnant? Do others often inquire on your due date?

Are you pregnant?

Yes? Congratulations!

No? Yeah, me either.

Ah, the social faux pas that plaques apparently a lot of people. Sometimes they just can’t help it! And sometimes I look down and think, “oh my god! I DO look pregnant!”

Willpower is a tricky thing

exercise-969300_1280

Today started week 3 of C25k. Now that the 90 jogs are feeling like a breeze, the 3 minute somehow seemed unbearable. I found the trick last week though. It’s Machine 3. The tv monitor attached to the top of the treadmill comes in the best, and Charmed is on. The Charmed channel doesn’t come in on all the monitors, I learned today. Normally if we get there early enough (505am usually), I can get Machine 3 and all is well with my work out. I can watch Charmed, while listening to Pandora on my phone and lip sync to the songs that get me going. Nothing wrong with that, right?

8-second planks and 60-second jogs

This is where I start. An 8-second plank and 60-second jogs. That’s all I can do. Could do. It was about a year ago we (the man and me) started using the app called C25k. It is going to help train us to get up to running a 5k. The first level is 60 seconds intervals with 90-second walks between, for 20 minutes total. That time a year ago I thought I was going to die. My legs were shaky, felt like lead, my heart raced and my throat was on fire. I endured. I could not believe that I couldn’t even run for 60 seconds! If I have to run away from zombies, I’m a goner for sure! I hated running! I think we (ok just me because he can run more than I can!) only got up to 5 minutes at a time!
